Help Drive Smart Growth Through Accurate Construction Estimating

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team and play a critical role in the success of our residential and light commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for developing accurate project estimates, supporting pre-construction planning efforts, and helping ensure projects are positioned for profitability and successful execution.

The ideal candidate has strong estimating experience, a solid understanding of construction methods and costs, and the ability to work closely with ownership, subcontractors, and project teams to develop competitive and accurate pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Proposal Development

• Prepare detailed construction estimates for residential and light commercial projects
• Develop project budgets, cost analyses, and pricing proposals
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements
• Identify potential cost risks and opportunities during the estimating process

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

• Solicit bids and pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
• Evaluate proposals for completeness, accuracy, and competitiveness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers
• Assist in developing accurate scopes of work for bidding purposes

Pre-Construction Support

• Support project planning and pre-construction activities
• Participate in project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams
• Assist in developing budgets, schedules, and cost projections
• Collaborate with leadership to align estimating efforts with project goals

Strategic Pricing & Cost Management

• Work directly with ownership on pricing strategy and project forecasting
• Monitor market conditions, labor costs, and material pricing trends
• Help improve estimating processes, systems, and cost databases
• Contribute to overall project profitability through accurate budgeting and forecasting

Qualifications

• Experience as a Construction Estimator, Project Estimator, or similar role
• Knowledge of residential and/or light commercial construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Strong understanding of construction costs, budgeting, and estimating principles
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and construction technology tools
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

Compensation

Target Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
